OK, I have to avoid falling into a logical fallacy.  It's the one where if some members of a group think and say crazy things, the entire group must be insane.  I'm sure you can think of some groups where if they proclaimed the sky being blue today, you'd still go and look because it might be pink.  What concerns me is that when some members of some groups run off the rails and say batshit crazy things, the remainder of the group don't come forward and decry his views, or at least say he's having a bad day.

I started today with a migraine and this one's just making it worse.  I'm tempted to just go bang my head against the wall for awhile but when I'd come back, these people would still be eye-wateringly deluded.  Some applicable LOLs - "the stupid is strong in this one", "the stupid, it burns".

Let's make absolutely sure I've got this straight.  The gentleman in question wants puppets put to death because of their parent company's views on same-sex marriage and presumably homosexuality in general.

A good friend of mine is a puppeteer.  We've worked together on some projects.  He's currently doing something in the TV industry in British Columbia in addition to his puppet projects.  I've seen his puppets when not in use.  Most live in a large wooden box.  They don't move, speak or breathe on their own.  They're dead.  They've always been dead.  The only time they come to life is when my friend works with them. 

Apparently one of Jeff Dunham's puppets says things that could be interpreted as a slur on Islam.  However, Jeff Dunham's various puppets say a lot of controversial things.  Jeff is a nightclub comedian and that's how they make their living.  The good ones are equal opportunity jokesters - they insult everybody!  If I have a problem with his puppets, there's no point in burning them at the stake, I need to have a word with Jeff himself.

It's equally ridiculous to propose eating Miss Piggy on a bun.  Miss Piggy is inedible.  Miss Piggy is a construct of fabric and sticks brought to life by an actor hiding down below, likely voiced by somebody completely different, following a script probably written by a team of writers.  That is actual reality.

What delusional world are these people living in?

Georgia home-schooled girl punished with shock collar because ‘the Bible says’

 A Georgia couple was arrested this week on charges of child cruelty and false imprisonment after their 15-year-old daughter told authorities that she was forced to live in a chicken coop and wear a remote-controlled shock collar. 

These people are likely biblical literalists.  I've read the Bible cover to cover in several translations and there's nothing in there about shock collars.  Besides, I've tried them with my dachshunds and they don't work.  The same technique also hasn't worked in the ex-gay movement.

Assuming they were married and the presiding minister asked "does anybody know a good reason why these two should not", somebody should have gotten up and said "they're too stupid to breathe, nevermind breed".
